Designing Experiments
Spring 2016
Text
The text for this course is my book A First Course in Design and Analysis of Experiments. It is now out of print, but you may download a pdf of the book here. Paradigm Copies on Washington Ave. sometimes has printed versions on sale as well.Lectures
This section contains links to pdf files with the lecture slides.

Supplements
This section used to be called "Handouts," but we don't hand them out any more so I call them supplements. These supplements include some additional material not found in the text as well as a lot of examples and commentary on using R to do work in this course. These are all linked below. Some of them will probably be updated shortly before each lecture, so you might not want to download them too early.
The old MacAnova-based handouts are also linked below, but those are of primarily historical interest.
R-based
Here are copies of the class supplements (in PDF format):
- Randomization handout
- Analysis of completely randomized design handout
- Checking assumptions handout
- Sample size and power handout
- First factorial handout
- Unbalanced data handout
- First random effects handout
- Second random effects handout
- REML handout
- Restricted model assumptions handout
- Randomized complete block handout
- Latin square handout
- Project handout
- BIBD handout
- Unreplicated 2 series factorials handout
- Confounding handout
- Split plot handout
- Covariates handout
- Fractional factorial handout
- Response surface handout
- Second response surface handout
