using JMP
using JMP
Two resources are available for JMP users for Mac, Windows or Linux:
- A JMP primer that shows how to use JMP to do the computations discussed in the book;
- Data files for all the examples and problems in the book that can be used with JMP.
The JMP primer
Get the primer for JMP as a pdf file.The data files for JMP
The data files are available as JMP data files, in a special format ending with the extension ".jmp". The data files are also available as plain text files on the data page. Here are the instructions for getting and using the ".jmp" files:- Get alr3jmp.zip, a compressed zip file containing a directory called "alr3jmp" with all data data files in JMP format. Save the file in a convenient place on your hard disk, or possibly on removable media if you are using a computer in a school lab.
- You may need to unzip the directory, depending on the setup on your machine, typically by double-clicking on the file name. On Linux, use unzip alr3jmp.zip.
To use the files in JMP, either double-click on the file name, or start JMP, select Open, and then browse to the directory that you created.
The wm5 file is used in one homework problem, and is available as a
zipped plain text file wm5.zip.
JMP Scripts
Although JMP has an extensive scripting language
we have not prepared any scripts for JMP. We invite users to write scripts
of their own, and let us know about them so we can share them with others.
