Problems to be handed in: 2.1.2, 2.2, 3.1.1, 3.3.3, plus the following 

1.6 An investigator found that a random sample of size 25 from a normal population resulted in a 95 percent confidence interval (Section 1.7.2) for the population mean with length 4.  The investigator would like a confidence interval of length about 1.  About how many additional observations should the investigator take to obtain a confidence interval with length about 1?
