About The Rweb in Stat 3011 Web Pages

These pages were written by Charles Geyer, (Associate Professor, School of Statistics, University of Minnesota, charlie@stat.umn.edu) for an introductory statistics course (Stat 3011) that is offered every semester. The particular offering these pages were written for was fall semester 1999.

The textbook used for the past several years has been Devore and Peck, Statistics: The Exploration and Analysis of Data, 3rd edition, Duxbury, 1997, and these web pages are keyed to the use of that textbook. In particular, all the examples come from that book. Moreover, the selection of topics more or less follows that book through Chapter 11, at which point Stat 3011 stops. (Some time in the future, when I am assigned to teach the follow-on course, Stat 3022, I will add additional pages covering ANOVA, multiple regression, nonparametrics, and contingency tables).
